The debate surrounding Tom Carroll continues among the Tottenham support as Mauricio Pochettino picks the midfielder once again for Spurs’ visit to Everton.
Many are yet to be convinced by Carroll’s ability. while others believe there should be a degree of faith in Pochettino’s judgement. Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb are both again ignored in favour of the divisive Carroll.
Elshwere, Christian Eriksen replaces the injured Mousa Dembele, while Ben Davies is preferred to Danny Rose.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to all the team news.
What does he honestly have to do ? #son

#thfc Davies deserves to start over Rose & I thought Carroll did pretty well at Watford last week. Surprised Eriksen starts over Son though.

Good line up. Only one I'd change is one of Bentaleb or Son for Carroll but the latter's obviously training well etc. #COYS

Good team. These players have won us 9 pts in the last 3 games & a strong bench as well. #COYS

Martinez seems to be going 442 with Kone and Lennon starting. 343 could counter that well, as well saw vs Watford.

Biggest talking point in the lineup is Carroll's inclusion again. I'm not convinced he's a better option than Bentaleb or Mason.

If Poch thinks Son has a better impact off the bench, then I trust his decision. I thought we already learnt that Poch knows more than us. ?

If Poch trusts Son to make an impact off the bench, then so be it. He knows a lot more than we do at the end of the day. #COYS

How glorious it is to be debating which of our Premier League standard academy grown midfielders should be starting for a key fixture. #COYS

@tottenhamblog seems as determined to give Carroll as run as he is to keep Alli more advanced.

It's only Lennon's fourth start of the season. Martinez presumably reckons he'll be fired up.

Real test for Carroll today starting infront of a partizan crowd at Goodison, will be interesting to see how handles the occasion.
