You would think that when Spurs were faced with as tough an away match as a trip to Borussia Dortmund, that everyone would agree we should play close to our strongest side.
Yet with Tottenham still in the title hunt opinion is split on whether players should be rested. Our view is that with Aston Villa to come at the weekend, the fixture list has been kind enough for us to take this game very seriously.
Hugo Lloris will start in goal, with a central defensive partnership of Toby Alderweireld and Kevin Wimmer in front of him. The full-backs are generally both rotated, but we’d keep Kyle Walker in the team in an effort to combat the pace Dortmund have up front, with Ben Davies replacing the injured Danny Rose.
In midfield, Eric Dier has been rested. It would be nice to be able to trust Nabil Bentaleb with a start in midfield but his form has been poor, so Mousa Dembele and Ryan Mason looks like the most solid combination.
Further forward we’d go for Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen and Heung-Min Son, who has a habit of scoring against our hosts. As ever, Harry Kane leads the line.
Here’s our Spurs team to face Borussia Dortmund. What’s yours?
