Statistics show that Harry Kane is Tottenham’s deadliest striker in the Premier League era.

Having hit 21 goals so far this season, Kane’s total of 45 goals in 77 Premier League appearances gives him a strike rate of a goal for every 1.71 games.

That puts him well ahead of modern greats such as Robbie Keane (2.62), Dimitar Berbatov (2.59) and Teddy Sheringham (2.43).

The only player to give any real competition to Kane is Jurgen Klinsmann. The German’s 29 Premier League goals in 56 games during two spells at the club, gives him a strike rate of 1.93.

Yet the ultimate benchmark for any Spurs striker is our all-time leading scorer Jimmy Greaves. With 220 goals in 321 league games, Greaves can boast of a strike rate of a goal every 1.45 games. Now there’s something to aim for Harry…
