The Mirror claim that Spurs are leading the race to sign the Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

They report that the French international looks set to sign at the end of the season in a £23.5m deal, which could represent something of a bargain for a player that was regularly linked with a Premier League transfer last summer, for a fee in excess of £30m.

The 24-year old attracted the attention of the biggest clubs in Europe last season, as he scored 31 goals in 40 appearances for Lyon. This season has seen his standards slip a little, but he’s still scored a respectable 20 goals in 41 matches.

Lacazette would bring much needed pace to the Tottenham attack and the striker is also able to play wide. Watch him in action below.
