It simply wasn’t meant to be. Tottenham let a 2-0 lead slip at Stamford Bridge, drawing 2-2 and handing the Premier League title to deserving champions Leicester City.
Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son had put Spurs 2-0 up before half time, but goals from Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard drew the hosts level, ending Tottenham’s hopes of a first league title since 1961.
Spurs can be proud they pushed Leicester most of the way. It was a shame to see a young team lose their heads at such a crucial stage of the season, but every Tottenham fan will be extremely proud of their team’s efforts this term.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the evening’s events.
Congratulations to @LCFC on winning the @PremierLeague.

Can dissect this season all summer, but we have exceeded all expectations. Have a young team that will learn from this and grow…

Harry Kane: "When the ex-Champions are celebrating a 2-2 draw like they've won the league, you know we're doing something right."

Chelsea fc are a total bunch of cunts as they decide to fight for one game of the season to derail our league title push, they need to take a hard look at themselves for the shambles of a season they put together Chelsea deserve there place in the league and no European football bunch of wankers, Spurs totally loved there battle and war of attrition to fight tooth and nail to the very end reminded me of the man Utd Arsenal battles which were awesome and I would of loved to have been on the pitch last night and fucked up Costa and hazard!!! Chelsea pricks decided to battle for 1 game out of 38 and you got what you deserved fucking cocks!!
COYS love you forever and carry on fighting to the death in every game
Very grown up of you Steve, Bitter much ?. I agree Chelsea have been very poor this season, but the draw last night was exactly that, Spur were simply not good enough on the day to get the job done, they decided to play dirty and deserved what they got.
