Reports claim that Spurs have failed to land one rumoured transfer target, but have been linked with a new name who could fill the same role in the squad.
The Roma striker Antonio Sanabria was supposedly close to a move to Tottenham in recent weeks, with Barcelona also reported to be interested. However, Spanish outlet Sport have now claimed that the Paraguayan will instead join Real Betis.
Betis are managed by the former Tottenham midfielder Gus Poyet and the Uruguayan is said to have persuaded Sanabria to join his club over a series of phone calls.
Spurs might have missed out on Sanabria but they have been linked with another South American forward. The River Plate striker Lucas Alario scored 11 goals in 26 games for the Argentine giants last season and his agent has claimed that Tottenham have shown an interest in his client.
“Today Alario is at River. There was only one proposal, from Genoa, and interest of Tottenham.
“If Tottenham pays the clause, Alario is going.”
Alario is said to have a €15m release clause in his contract. Could he be worth a shot at that price? Watch him in action below and make your verdict.
Beaten to a player’s signature by Bournemouth and Real Betis.Congratulations Mr.Levy.We had more pulling power when not looking forward to the Champions League.
Maybe it,s time to go back in for Jonathan Calleri.
Maybe its time Levy and co fuck off
Maybe you should grow up!
Why do Spurs fans think DL has the final say in every transfer deal .Yes he is involved but there is a small group who decide who we go after and they also decide what the player is worth .DL just closes the deal something he does better than just about any chairman out there .If we have missed out on someone either they don’t want to come to us or they are too expensive . How many of us when buying a car pay the price its advertised for .Everyone wants it for less and buying a player is no different .Chelsea overpayed for that Belgain guy by about 5-7million if the figures are correct as did man utd on Depay .If we do that with much lower funds to spend we will go bust and there is the fair play rules .Until we have a bigger stadium this is how we operate .
I wouldn’t even bother trying to explain this to some of our fans. They haven’t a clue.
This guy has already said he is happy & is staying at river plate. We will not sign any of these. One more signing soon and maybe one last minute no more than that. #levyout
Spurs are reportedly linked to a new player who may play the same position in the team, but they have reportedly failed to sign one rumored transfer target.
