Multiple sources from Holland are now claiming that Spurs have agreed a deal to sign Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar and that the player has flown to London for a medical.

Tottenham are said to be paying €20m for the Dutch international, which is the fee that AZ have been holding out for.

With the Janssen deal seemingly on the verge of completion, attention will turn to other targets and reports from Spain claim that the club still has a chance of landing Antonio Sanabria from Roma.

The Paraguayan looked to be on his way to Real Betis, but ABC De Sevilla have reported that Spurs have made a last-gasp bid of €15m for the striker.

Sanabria is said to want to stay in Spain having spent last season on loan at Sporting Gijon, but it will be interesting to see if there are any truth in these fresh rumours in light of Janssen’s imminent acquisition.

  2. Cuntish little Woolwich wanderer trolls (prob Walcott, I heard he’s had some spare time this summer lol)

  3. Comment:@kinsley annor seriously another world class defender?don’t think we need any be it a cb,rb or lb we are well covered what we need is a pacy winger and good striker to help and provide competition for Kane and I think Jansen is OK

  4. Carton is coming through and has the potential to compete in the prem. Love to see jansen com in, ticks all the boxes! Tbh if we bring in wiji and jansen on top of Wanyama I’m more than happy. COYS

  5. If Janssen can adapt to the league and get off to a good start he’ll prove to be a very good signing. Going on the quoted prices, we’ll have made two top notch additions for premier league peanuts. While most teams are being held to ransom in light of the new tv money, Levy has gone out and done sensible business again. If we we get the Janssen deal over the line I think the pressure is off and we can then tweak the squad without fear of being short anywhere (injuries aside). Wanyama allows Dier to drop back into a CB birth when needed and we have Carter-Vickers ready to make an impact now too so I don’t see why anyone would think we need another “world class defender”. Once Vertonghen is back we’d struggle to keep the harmony amongst them all. The only spanner in the works is Dembele’s suspension. We might see another midfield player come in….if we see one or two leave…but once we see Janssen in a Spurs shirt and hopefully see Pritchard given a fair crack at it this season, I’m quietly confident with the squad we have.

  6. Wanayama and Janssen are good signings don’t get me wrong but everyone around us is making world class signings ie gundogan to city, mhikitaryan ibra and likely pogba to United and batshuyi to chelski

  7. Batshauyi was what over priced & wanted £100k a week, wages would have caused problems with rest of squad, especially as he is unproven at both International & PL level.

We cannot compete with City, United or Chelsea in terms of wages or fees, Levy is probably the best Chairman in the PL & why some people want new owners is totally stupid in my opinion.

    • Tim you are having a laugh. Best chairman in the league. He never shows ambition and always leaves us short. Could have won the league last season but had to rely on the 12/13 good players we have

  8. We are in need of left footed wide men who can go past players. Mahrez is the man I would bust the bank for, I lie Lamela but feel he is be better suited to be central maybe rotated with Alli

  9. What we need is our manager to be backed up with the players he wants and for our chairman to act. Our gaffa knows who we need so get them in so let’s get them and are chairman to stop saving money when last season cost us from winning the league . I think our chairman doesn’t want to win the league more interesting in makeing money he’s the one that needs to go.
