Reports from Germany claim that Spurs are in negotiations to sign the Mainz attacking midfielder Yunus Malli.
Bild have reported that Tottenham have made their move for the Turkish international, who has been linked with the club for some months. Time is of the essence if this is true, as Malli’s buyout clause of £8.4m expires on 31st July. German football expert Alex Chaffer has confirmed the negotiations, but claims that Malli isn’t desperate to move to England.

The 24-year old scored 11 goals in 34 games for Mainz last season and for such a small fee, the signing of Malli would be a typically shrewd investment by Spurs. Even if he did not succeed in the Premier League, there are enough rich Bundesliga clubs who would fancy taking Malli back to Germany.
With Mauricio Pochettino arguably lacking cover for Christian Eriksen, the signing of Malli could fill a gap in the squad. Watch him in action below.
We need to improve our squad quickly as time is running out. The dead wood needs to go. Putting Yedlin up front on the right instead of full back will make sense as he is the fastest runner in the prem. We need an imposing centre half as vetongen does not cut it for me. He is more of a defensive midfielder to me. Keven Wimmer has a Dier role to play I think he can do a good duel job. The team must be picked depending on the opposition. If we were going to play Man utd away and looking for a result. lloris, walker, Rose, Alderwileld, and a new centre back. . Midfield of Wimmer, Wanyama, Deir. Dembele Kane Alli. this would be a solid team and also skillful.

no real width and we’d miss eriksen’s creativity, hes a lot more important than many realize remember the start of last year we could barely score when he wasnt in the team. and with nkoudou coming id play with some width we need to be able to stretch defences better. we struggled to break teams down at times. with everyone else predictably improving we need to learn how to break teams down better. id get boufal hes got more skill to hs game and hes more direct. then drop all into cm along with wanyama dier dembele. id bring in a cb too.

The above team to face Man utd Liverpool etc away. The full backs would cause mayhem going forward as they are the width. Dembele Alli kane going forward knowing their is protection of Dier Wanyamma and Wimmer behind them. What more could you ask for

N’Koudou might well be a very good addition. He’s different to anything Tottenham have currently. He is a fasrt and direct attacker who works hard. We’ll have to wait and see but he is the type of player Tottenham need to break opposing defenses. I’ve little doubt that more additions are required with a very important and very difficult season in prospect. The aim must be to remain in The Champions League come the end of the season. As things stand I’d maintain that it is unlikely Tottenham will succeed in doing that. I can only hope.
Were serious first team contenders added, I’d be less pessimistic and more hopeful. As for Vertonghen he’s quite simply a genuine class act! I’ve no doubt that Wanyama will certainly contend strongly for a starting position. Again I am with those who feel we need more options and more skillful additions in midfield. It’s primarily about unlocking defenses and being able to play a high pressure, harrying and retrieval team game. It requires natural athleticism and real stamina with a strong confident internal professional attitude, to compete well with the best opposition in Europe and in The Premiership. Speed in additional players is also too important for Tottenham to relegate it in any way with the present playing staff, while direct runners and forward attacking passers would be most welcome. Best of all would be such a player who is strong with both feet. It’s a major asset for Janssen’s own prospects of success too! I’d be most concerned about reserve keeper and would be very happy to see a major striking signing who is strong in the air, has abundant energetic pace to worry defenders. So, an attacking creative midfielder, another strong keeper and a special striker would be the ticket for more optimism with me. Fingers crossed Pochettino gets the players he most desires. He understands budget constraints and Levy is correct not to pay many inflated prices being bandied about. But the most difficult job is to find players suitable exits and Tottenham are over loaded with mediocrity. They need to shift players and get new blood into the equation this season. Otherwise I expect there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth an experience that many who have long followed the clubs fortunes are only too familiar with. Keeping feet on the ground myself and hoping for a couple of top class additions to really inject confident enthusiasm for the upcoming season. Good Luck Tottenham.
