Victor Wanyama scored his first Tottenham goal to break the deadlock with eight minutes to go against Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane.
Spurs had looked stale for most of the contest but were just about the better side, so deserved their goal when it came.
After a short spell of dominance from the hosts, Harry Kane leaped to win an excellent header from a corner, and the ball fell to Wanyama to simply nod home from close range.
