Sky Germany have claimed that Wolfsburg want to bring Heung-Min Son back to the Bundesliga.
With their forward Bas Dost looking likely to leave Wolfsburg for Newcastle, reinforcements will be needed for a club who have already lost Andre Schurrle this summer.
Son would reportedly cost Wolfsburg £17m and Sky Germany go on to claim that other clubs are interested in signing the South Korean, who is still held in high-esteem in the Bundesliga.
The 24-year old scored 17 goals in his last season for Bayer Leverkusen before moving to Spurs for £22m. Though Son made a bright start at White Hart Lane, injuries disrupted his season and he would only score eight times from 40 appearances, many of which came from the bench.
With the emergence of Dele Alli, the rise in form of Erik Lamela and the possible signing of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, competition for a place looks fierce for Son.
So would you cash in on him, recouping most of his transfer fee and getting a big salary off the books? The funds could be used towards recruiting a playmaker who could provide genuine competition for Christian Eriksen.
Or would you prefer to see Son stay and fight for his place? Much of his troubles last season came from not being given a consistent run in the side, with injuries and the fact he was often used as cover for Harry Kane, contributing to a mediocre campaign.

Because Son didn’t win an Olympic medal, he is therefore not exempt from South Korean military conscription. He will have to do start his military service of 21 months before he turns 28. I think he is a great player, and extremely good for team morale but I think we should let him go, as this will seriously affect his resell value as he gets closer to conscription.
I like Son, I think he tries hard, he’s got good technique, he can use both feet, he’s quite clever and he suits our style. All of this and yet still, i’m not totally convinced he would ever be a pivotal player for us. For me he would be very unlucky to go, but he will always be linked with a move away, he’s one of those players. Unlucky to be sold, but fortunate to stay. Much like N’Jie. As long as we spent what we received, I wouldn’t cry if we let him go, but you would have to replace him with a better player or a very exciting youngster to justify it, which isn’t as easy as people think. But if someone offered me Son, or Ante Coric, I wouldn’t take long to decide.
Son raises the international profile of the club. That is more valuable than anything, as we need to start thinking like a big club, I doubt he will be sold.
Comment: they should not sell him because he’s a good player who can use both feet.It just that he is still not adapted to english premier league gamestyle which is different from Bundesliga.They should give him more chances to play in the first XI.

I’m not sure Son has what it takes to make a success in the PL. He doesn’t have the skill level of Lamela and his main tactic seems almost a refined copy of Townsend – take on defenders and get a shot away – which he does better for sure. I suppose he could play Kane’s role behind Janssen, but using him as a striker would not work. Some matches he seems almost anonymous and it could be that the Bundesliga suits him better. I’m erring on the side of letting him go, just. I don’t recall many Koreans setting the PL alight with their success TBH.

Son should 100% stay. He’s versatile, both footed, has an eye for goal, raises the clubs international profile, is energetic both on and off the pitch which gives a boost to other players around him, and all in all is a great squad player, especially when the thing holding Spurs back at the moment in my opinion is the lack of this kind of quality on the bench that can come on towards the end of a match or replace someone who is injured and put in a good performance and just overall add something different to the team. A no brained in my eyes.
Son should definitely stay. Despite him having a mediocre season, quite often when he made a substitute appearance he was a major game changer and contributed in finding crucial goals when they were needed the most.
