West Bromwich Albion have agreed to pay £13 million for Tottenham midfielder Nacer Chadli, according to Sky Sports.
The deal represents a club-record fee for West Brom and will see Spurs make a £6 million profit on an unwanted fringe player. Even Daniel Levy’s biggest doubters will be impressed by the chairman’s latest piece of shrewd business.
Chadli was initially expected to join the Baggies on a season-long loan, but it seems the stances of both clubs has changed with West Brom willing to pay a hefty fee and Tottenham happy to let the Belgian leave permanently.
Here’s how Spurs fans reacted to the news on Twitter.
£38m for Mason, Chadli, Yedlin and Pritchard lmao. £55m if you include Bentaleb’s loan which will inevitably be made permanent.

Might be in the minority, but I like Chadli. Top player on his day & wasn’t the best for us, but got important goals. Wish him the best.

Christ in what world can we get £21m for Chadli & Pritchard. Desperately need players in now (shock)

So looks like Chadli’s off to WBA for 13m. Must use those funds to strengthen the squad

As long as we have a replacement for Chadli, I’m okay.
