After his man of the match performance against Liverpool on Saturday, Michel Vorm probably wasn’t expecting to be asking for a lift down Tottenham High Road after the game.
But that’s exactly what happened when Spurs’ stand-in goalkeeper was left behind by the Tottenham team bus. Ahh, you’re thinking, now that headline makes sense!
According to Ben Pearce, a journalist for Ham&High, Vorm was wrapping up an interview with a group of reporters when the coach “pulled away onto Tottenham High Road,” leaving Tottenham’s star performer stranded at White Hart Lane.
Vorm then headed out “into the car park in search of a lift to the club’s training base in Enfield.” Oops! The coach driver must have been a Liverpool fan…
The Dutchman has deputised excellently in captain Hugo Lloris’ absence. Lloris should return from a hamstring injury after the international break, but Spurs fans will be pleased to have a confident, capable replacement in Vorm if it takes a little longer for Hugo to recover.
Vorm’s goalkeeping skills might be fine, but he’s likely to begin work on his timekeeping in training next week.
He didn’t need t look for a lift as a car was already supplied for him
…plus superman can fly ?
