Arsenal and Tottenham couldn’t be separated in the first North London derby of the season at the Emirates.
Kevin Wimmer’s unfortunate own goal gave the hosts the lead just before the break. Harry Kane levelled things up from the spot early in the second half after Mousa Dembele was fouled by Laurent Koscielny.
Spurs had chances to win it with Christian Eriksen twice coming close, hitting the post and forcing Petr Cech into a low save.
But Mauricio Pochettino’s side will arguably be more pleased with the draw given Arsenal’s good form going into the derby.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Tottenham’s performance and the result.
Played an experimental formation, scored a goal for them, played a half fit striker, Not won in 6 & they still couldn't beat us. Some shadow

Phew. Would have taken 1-1 before the game I think. As it was we probably could have won it #COYS

11. Can anyone beat us? #coys

Spurs were fantastic. Tactically got everything spot on and the end result showed that. One of our strongest performances for ages. #COYS

That's an excellent performance and but for a marginal offside decision could/should have been a win. Very happy with that.

I'll take that after how worried I was before. Much better performance than recent ones. Poch has a lot to do over the break.

Still 100% unbeaten Kane is back and has a goal stopped them lot going top. Can't complain. #COYS

Wenger had never gone 5 games vs Tottenham in the league without winning until today; till he met Poch. So proud of my lilywhite heroes

Dembele given MOTM but there were many other candidates – all of the centre-backs were magnificent; Rose and Wanyama effervescent warriors.

For me, Alli position under serious threat. Luxury passenger too often. Liked the back 3 a lot. Rose and Walker both immense. Jan a leader

Well played Spurs. On the back of a difficult few weeks, against a v good Arsenal side. Better team for long periods. Take that. #THFC #COYS

Tottenham's sixth draw of the season but they'll take that one. Thought Rose was superb. Great response after Wembley defeat. #NLD #AFCvTHFC

First time we've really seen last season's Mousa Dembele after suspension and niggling injuries. Massive performance from him today.

GLAD TO SEE DIER BACK IN MIDFIELD
Er, think he was on the right of a back 3, Bernard. However, what a different performance to that awful one we saw on Wednesday. They all played their part today, even Eriksen.
Why on earth didnt Spurs sign a good striker instead of sossoko?
