Tottenham fought back to draw with Arsenal at the Emirates yesterday and Spurs stars past and present were quick to react to the match on Twitter.

After a good start, Tottenham were put under pressure my Arsenal as the first-half wore on and the Gunners eventually took the lead through an unfortunate own-goal from Kevin Wimmer.

Spurs came back stronger in the second-half and Harry Kane equalised from the penalty spot after good work from Mousa Dembele. Both sides had chances to win the game, but in the end a draw was probably a fair reflection.

Here’s how some of Tottenham’s favourite sons reacted to the match.

  1. I see (according to TalkSport) that we are 17th in the EPL when measured by shot conversion rate, carrying on from where we left off last season.
Yet another stat that confirms the tightrope between success & failure that Pochettino is walking at the moment.

    • True. But you’d have to imagine that will improve pretty soon. As a whole, we have had Alderweireld, Rose, Dembele, Dier, Lamela, Dele and Kane missing for periods – we even had Lloris missing at the start of the season. That is eight of last season’s preferred starting eleven. Of our forward players, aside from injuries Kane had a slow start and Erikson, Dele and Lamela have all visibly been off form – we know this because of how fluid they were when they got going. The percentage guess would be that this will improve, maybe now Kane is back. Son missed the start of the season, hit form and then looked ill, exhausted or both when he returned from international duty. It was way too soon for Janssen – I think he will improve with work and patience. Even Sissoko, who no-one holds out too much hope in, managed to get suspended just when we could have done with him. There are new combinations trying to gain fluency – not unique in that, of course.

And yet we are unbeaten, not too far adrift of the top. I would like to see our rivals cope with this. I can only see us improving from here on in, TBH.
