He was expected to start, but Vincent Janssen will have to settle for a place among the substitutes as Tottenham welcome Wycombe Wanderers to White Hart Lane in the FA Cup.

Instead Heung-Min Son, who scored the equaliser at Manchester City last weekend, starts as a lone striker.

There are also starts for Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Josh Onomah, as well as other fringe players who will be eager to impress manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to all the team news.

  1. Jansenn should be up front with Son this will not help the lad.Just remember what we have invested in him does not make any sense playing this team.

  2. Such small minded people!! Should be backing Jansenn and not Fukn crucifying the boy! Took Lamela how long to settle??? Song didn’t exactly hit the ground running either when he came!! He’s young and in a totally different league and style. He gives 100% when he plays for us,just hasn’t had the luck.Every game I have watched him play he hasn’t exactly been given great chances to bury! He should start today and build his confidence up.Stop being so small minded and criticising him.COYSSSSSSS???

  3. Can’t believe the side he put out, then expects supporters to pay good money to go to the game. No respect for the competition. Rather win this than the Europa. Same as last year when we went out of the cups with weak sides then won nothing.

  4. He put that team out….it’s called squad rotation!!!???Every club does it in the cup games. If you were a proper supporter you would know this and wouldn’t moan like a little bitch about it.The first 11 need rest and to avoid burn out and injuries and the squad players need game time!!
