After Barcelona’s 4-0 humbling at Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, manager Luis Enrique’s long-term future has been thrown into doubt.
There’s a good chance the Catalan club will be looking for a new manager this summer, and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could be on their shortlist.
But the Spurs manager has insisted his is content where he is, despite his current job being a difficult one.
In his press conference ahead of the Europa League visit to Gent, Pochettino said: “I can’t say anything about [the Barcelona job]. I’m at Tottenham. I am very happy, [I have] four more years of my contract, enjoying an exciting project. It’s true it’s not an easy project, but I’m very happy here.”
ESPN’s write-up claims Pochettino once called Barcelona his “sporting enemy,” but that’s probably because he used to manage Barcelona’s local rivals Espanyol.
It doesn’t sound like Pochettino is eager to jump ship, but Spurs will hope a concrete offer isn’t made for his services this summer.
