Left-back Luke Shaw flourished under Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton and appeared to be the future of England’s left side.
But his progressed has stalled at Manchester United, particularly under Jose Mourinho. Shaw has fallen way down the pecking order and could move on in the summer.
All the while Pochettino has been working his magic with another left-back, Danny Rose. The Tottenham defender has cemented his place in England’s best eleven while Shaw continues to struggle up north.
But The Mirror reports Rose is on Pep Guardiola’s radar at Manchester City, and Luke Shaw is being touted as a potential replacement.
This isn’t the first time Shaw has been linked with Spurs. The 21-year-old would struggle to get a game when Rose is fit, but would be perfect back-up considering his similar attributes.
It’s unlikely Tottenham would pay big money for back-up, though. And it’s highly doubtful the club would let go of Rose, even if a big bid came in from Manchester City.
The last sentence in this article defines what will happen…..Rose is going no-where and City plus Man Utd can keep dreaming about Rose and Kane respectively.
