It’s been almost a year now since Tottenham were first linked with Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha.
Many Spurs fans weren’t keen on the idea at first, and Palace were unwilling to sell one of their best players last summer. Tottenham ended up luring Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle instead — and we all know how that turned out.
Zaha has enjoyed an impressive season and it seems some Spurs supporters are coming round to the idea of him joining this summer.
And there might be some good news on that front. The Sun reports Zaha is set to reject a new deal that would see him become Palace’s highest paid player, as he is “determined to quit” the club.
The deal is said to be worth around £100,000-a-week. Only Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris earn over that amount at Tottenham. Zaha would probably have to be willing for that number to fall in exchange for Champions League football with Spurs.
With the player believed to be adamant on a move to a bigger club, I don’t think wages should be too much of a problem unless one of Tottenham’s top four rivals swoop for Zaha.
As usual, it would be wise to take anything The Sun says with a pinch of salt.
Not sure is Zaha is the answer, l do think Grey from Leicester would be a better buy
Definetelythe missing link for spurs, zahahas the pace experience and finishing spurs need. Would be a fantastic addition to an already great team.
