Tottenham fans were no doubt delighted to hear Thibaut Courtois would miss Chelsea’s big game at Manchester United at the weekend through injury.
Courtois reportedly injured his ankle filming a commercial in which he played basketball. Chelsea lost 2-0 at Old Trafford with Asmir Begovic in goal, keeping Spurs within touching distance of the league leaders.
And Tottenham may have received another huge boost in their bid to get one over on Chelsea this season, whether than be in the league or the FA Cup.
The Mirror reports Courtois is set to miss Chelsea’s the FA Cup semi-final clash with Spurs at Wembley on Saturday.
The Belgian goalkeeper is regarded as one of the best stoppers in the world, and his absence will be a big blow to Chelsea’s hopes of winning the double.
The report also claims left-back Marcos Alonso will miss the semi-final through injury, but other outlets have suggested the Spaniard only missed out at Old Trafford because of a virus, which he should recover from in time for the weekend.
