Eric Dier will not be leaving Tottenham this summer, according to Sky Sports.

Earlier this week, The Telegraph reported Spurs are interested in signing Burnley’s Michael Keane for £30 million, meaning Manchester United would be free to make a £40 million move for Dier.

But Sky has since quashed rumours of Tottenham’s interest in Keane. On top of that, they claim a source has told them Spurs have no intention of selling Dier in the summer transfer window.

The Telegraph story suggested Mauricio Pochettino is interested in Keane because of his versatility. However, it makes no sense that Tottenham would sell Dier, an even more versatile player, to make room for Keane.

Since moving back into central midfield in recent weeks, Dier has scored twice — against Burnley and Watford — in his last four Premier League appearances.

The 23-year-old, who arrived from Sporting Lisbon for £4 million in the summer of 2014, is also able to drop into a back three when needed.
