Christian Eriksen opened the scoring with a stunning goal for Tottenham in their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
After a first half that the hosts arguably edged in terms of meaningful chances, Spurs came out much improved after the break and began to dominate with around half an hour remaining.
The visitors missed a couple of promising opportunities to take the lead, particularly Dele Alli who fired wide from close range.
But when the ball fell to Eriksen 25 yards from goal, the Dane smashed home to put Tottenham ahead.
The midfielder was brilliant throughout, and Spurs fans were more than happy with his display on Twitter.

Painful to start with but we gradually commanded the play. Eriksen sublime. Sissoko growing on me. Three points – happy days. #CRYTOT

It wasn't pretty, but that's a massive win and a statement of the new Spurs under Pochettino. So many past teams would've bottled that. ? pic.twitter.com/GMrwkfnJSC

On a night where Mauricio Pochettino's men had to win, up stepped Christian Eriksen to keep Spurs slim title hopes still alive. #COYS#THFC pic.twitter.com/fw3APQwb1A

Eriksen should really stay in center midfield; it's where his future is. Team looks so controlled in possession when he's there.

As for Eriksen – outstanding. Rescuing the entire reputation of the 'Beatles' signings on his own. Proper Spurs player
