Kundai Benyu is set to leave Ipswich Town this summer as Tottenham’s interest intensifies, according to The Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old broke into Ipswich’s first team when he was just 16, but a fall out with manager Mick McCarthy resulted in a loan to National League side Aldershot Town last summer.

Benyu scored five goals from midfield for Aldershot this season, and has decided to leave Ipswich this summer.

Scouts from Aston Villa, West Ham United and Celtic have all regularly watched Benyu since his breakthrough at Ipswich, but Spurs are likely to have a say in his future destination.

Tottenham’s interest in long-standing; Benyu was invited to be part of the club’s NextGen Series squad in Amsterdam last summer.

The midfielder is free to move on from Ipswich this summer as he is out of contract, meaning Spurs could sign him for a small compensation fee.

If he does join Tottenham, it’s unlikely we’ll see Benyu in the first team any time soon. But he might be one to keep an eye on.
