Tottenham resisted a second half Manchester United comeback to win the last ever game at White Hart Lane, sealing second place in the Premier League in the process.
Victory also ensured an unbeaten final league season for the hosts at their historic home.
Victor Wanyama opened the scoring inside five minutes, latching onto a pinpoint Ben Davies cross to head past David de Gea.
Harry Kane scored the last ever winning goal at the Lane, cleverly flicking the ball home from Christian Eriksen’s free-kick.
Wayne Rooney struck to put United back in with a chance, but Spurs held out to seal the points. Here’s how Twitter reacted.
Goodbye to the Lane with a victory and clinching runners-up. White Hart Lane awash with tears and cheers. Thank you old girl #TOTMU

Harry Kane with the last Spurs goal at WHL, Wayne Rooney with the last ever. Unbeaten at home all season. What a send off for the old girl ?

Unbeaten in the old girls swansong season. You can’t send her off any better than that ??#COYS

Thank you Mauricio Pochettino for making this moment so beautiful and emotional. Without you it could have been oh so different.

A lad on the pitch there doing the Robbie Keane cartwheel celebration, another barechested one doing the Klinsmann.

Good old Spurs. Fucking love this football club. Tears in my eyes and I’m not even there.

There’s too much talent and desire in this team to let the Wembley thing be too big of an issue. They’ll handle it.
