Tottenham have “initiated discussion” with Juventus right-back Dani Alves over a possible summer transfer, according to Yahoo Sport.
Kyle Walker is reportedly keen on joining Manchester City at the end of the season, so Spurs are in need of a top-class replacement.
And according to journalist Duncan Castles, Tottenham want to sign three-time Champions League winner Alves in order to add experience to their young squad.
Alves, 34, could still win the treble with Juventus this season: the Italian giants have already won the Coppa Italia, the Serie A title is a point away and they travel to Cardiff for the Champions League final in June.
It’s very unlikely Spurs will be able to convince Alves to join given his huge salary. Tottenham are more likely to pursue a younger, cheaper option with the potential to develop.
It’s crucial Spurs recruit at least one player with Champions League experience this summer, but Dani Alves is a pipe dream.
