Manchester United have emerged as favourites to sign Danny Rose this summer, according to The Mirror.

The story suggests Rose is keen on a move back up north and Tottenham are “bracing themselves” to lose the defender.

Jose Mourinho has apparently made a new left-back one of his main priorities as Manchester United aim to improve their squad for next season.

The United manager isn’t on the best of terms with Luke Shaw, but there is no suggestion he could move the other way.

Rose hasn’t played for Spurs since injuring his knee against Sunderland in a 0-0 Premier League draw back in January.

Ben Davies has since come into the team and impressed as both a left-back and a left wing-back.

But most Spurs fans will be keen for Rose to recover for next season and return to the starting eleven.

The Mirror’s story seems speculative at best. Rose’s recovery should prevent an exit, and Tottenham wouldn’t want to sell him to a Premier League rival anyway.

  1. None of our key players (and that includes Kyle Walker) will be leaving to a PL rival, unless we receive fees around the world record for a player.

With regards Rose and Walker a lot of people are speculating that 40m, 45m or 50m might be enough, but for a PL rival they will find out very soon that the true figure required is around 75m – 85m per player. That is the same for all the players apart from Dele and Kane where a PL rival would need to bid north of 180m per player for us to even consider it.

If the likes of Barca or Madrid show an interest, then more modest figures will be discussed by Daniel and the board.

    • That’s not true.

Following the sale of berbatov to Man Utd it was decided no player would be sold to a PL rival again.

chelsea embarrassed themselves by pursuing Modric some years later and their offer of 40m was rejected in favour of a 33m offer from Madrid.

Same again with Bale where Man Utd’s offer of 100m was rejected in favour of a 86m offer from Madrid.

The full backs have been told they can join Madrid or Barca for 50m per player, but we will not entertain any bids for them from PL rivals, unless the fees offered come close to doubling what we are prepared to sell for abroad.

The two Manchester clubs have done a lot of leaking to the press in a desperate and laughable hope that it will have some kind of effect, but it will only serve to strengthen Daniel Levy’s resolve.

And of course cause our PL rivals embarrassment once more.

  2. LOL…NO player leaves unless Daniel Levy says they can!
UTD are not in a position to just walk up and get the man they want. Rose will only go if Levy authorises it and if he does Utd will have to pay a very very heavy price!

  3. Walker and rose will both leave,
Conversations been taking place for a while now regards to fees. Levy wants to start from 70million for rose
Chelsea man city and Man Utd will bid for them, rose will go to either Manchester clubs fact
    Sorry but they will leave
We will replace so do not worry.
    Life after these 2
    COYS
