Tottenham have given up on the idea of signing Riyad Mahrez, according to The Mirror.

The report claims Juventus are the latest club to express an interest in Mahrez, while Chelsea and Arsenal remain keen on the Algerian.

Spurs, on the other hand, “have already rejected the chance to sign him.” Perhaps they were put off by his £40 million price tag and £100,000-a-week wages.

Instead, it appears Tottenham are going to pursue Mahrez’s Leicester teammate, Demarai Gray.

The winger is believed to be unsettled at the King Power Stadium after failing to make a big impression under current manager Craig Shakespeare.

Apparently Gray has a £22 million release clause which Spurs aren’t willing to meet. But negotiations are bound to happen if the interest is real.

The 20-year-old is clearly very talented, as evidenced by the stunning goal he scored at Old Trafford last season.
