Tottenham are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu this summer, according to reports in Germany.
Calhanoglu, a set piece specialist, has just finished serving a four-month suspension in Germany relating back to a breach of contract at his former club Karlsruhe in 2011.
The 23-year-old scored nine goals in 26 appearances last season before his ban begun in February. He has been linked with clubs in his native Turkey, but according to German outlet Bild he would prefer a move to England or Italy.
A host of Serie A clubs have been linked with Calhanoglu but Bild believe Spurs and Everton are set to fight it out for the midfielder’s signature.
Calhanoglu scored this amazing free-kick against Dortmund for Hamburg in 2014.
