Tottenham are keen on Tenerife goalkeeper Carlos Abad, who has spent the last two years on loan at Real Madrid reserve side Castilla.

That’s according to Spanish outlet Marca. They report Madrid had an option to buy the 22-year-old for £3 million this summer but have decided against signing Abad permanently.

Mauricio Pochettino was apparently impressed by the Spaniard’s displays last season, while there is also interest from clubs in Spain and Italy.

Spurs’ interest is likely a result of complications concerning the permanent signing of Pau Lopez, who spent last season on loan at White Hart Lane.

You can watch some of Abad’s highlights below.
