Tottenham have made a £26 million offer for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva, according to reports in Portugal.
It has been suggested that the 28-year-old, who is believed to be attracting interest from Spurs and Leicester City, is available for £26 million.
And now, Portuguese outlet Abola claims Tottenham have indeed made an offer of £26 million.
Silva very nearly joined Leicester last summer after winning Euro 2016 with Portugal, but the deal broke down at the last minute.
The midfielder has reportedly been the subject of a couple of bids from Spurs. The latest was thought to be around £21.5 million.
Sporting are apparently refusing to let their star player go for anything under £26 million. If Tottenham truly have matched that figure, things could start to get interesting.
When asked about rumours linking him with a move to the Premier League last month, Silva refused to comment.
Silva would add plenty of experience to Spurs’ young squad, but it’s difficult to see Daniel Levy spending £26 million on a 28-year-old.
