Tottenham and Manchester City have agreed a fee of £50 million for the transfer of Kyle Walker, according to multiple reports.
The deal has been on the cards for a while now. The only thing apparently stopping it was Manchester City’s refusal to meet Spurs’ huge asking price.
But after missing out Dani Alves to Paris Saint-Germain, it appears City have moved quickly to secure the signing of Walker, who will now negotiate personal terms with the Manchester club.
If it happens, the deal will equal the world record transfer fee for a defender set by David Luiz’s £50 million move from Chelsea to PSG in 2014.

There is no upside to Spurs selling Walker – and even less so to a direct rival. Imperative Spurs *replace* him properly. And quickly.

We're literally gonna start the season against Chelsea without Walker, Rose or Son. Zero pace.

Rare transfer where everyone is a winner? Kyle has had a great Spurs career, but trust Poch to work his magic on replacement. https://t.co/cCdJLjjVft

I expected this soon but reading it hurt. Seems like a falling out, which is a huge shame after so many years. Spurs must buy a #1 RB now. https://t.co/frfeOf8gIU

Can't believe Manchester City are paying £55m for our second-string right back.

Disappointing to see Walker move on. A good servant to the club over a number of years. Lost a good player there.

As I've always said if you don't want to be here sell. Same goes for Dier if his head has been turned.

FWIW I think Spurs can cope with losing Walker. Vital to his improvement was the coach. Trippier has also improved under Poch.

Will say this again. Players leaving Spurs are ones that Poch doesn't want anymore. Walker a great player but we move on #COYS

Once again the lure of the money gas proven too great for Levy. Trippier has a good couple of games but as a full time replacement for Walker ??? Does this again prove that Spurs are a selling team
Good price for someone who has his good points but also has had bad lapses during his time. We have an excellent replacement.
It is good for the natural progress of players for one to move on. So overall should enhance the balance and strength in the team.
So much for levy saying we will not sell any of our top players to a rival club, Money talks Mr levy who’s next going out the door?
Can’t see any advantages for us selling Walker to City, it’s a lose, lose as far as I’m concerned. Why do we need £50m to spend on another RB when we already had a top one? Worse we’re strengthening our direct rivals. Levy speak with forked tongue.
If City paid £50m for Stones, Walker tag price should be £70m
Glad the knob is away he’s to hot and cold pish final ball can’t play two games a week get him to fcuk in poch we trust
It’s not done until he’s holding the shirt up, media reporting today isn’t worth a toss.
