Tottenham have identified Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic as a potential alternative to Ross Barkley, according to The Mirror, but have been put off by the teenager’s wage demands.

Spurs may have been priced out of a move for Barkley after the midfielder demanded wages of £150,000-a-week, which would make him the club’s highest earner.

As a result, Tottenham have looked at alternatives, one of which being USA international Pulisic.

The 18-year-old scored five goals and provided eight assists in 43 appearances for Dortmund last season, and is considered one of the most promising young talents in the Bundesliga.

That kind of reputation comes at a price for his suitors. Pulisic’s wage demands have apparently put him out of Spurs’ price range. On to the next one, I suppose.
