Earlier this week we relayed reports suggesting Tottenham are interested in signing Hoffenheim defender Jeremy Toljan.

A story in the Portuguese press went as far to say Spurs are closing in on a deal for the 22-year-old.

But there have been further developments. Sky Sports claims Toljan’s agent has told them there has been no contact from Tottenham concerning a potential approach for the player.

The Mirror believes Spurs are very much keen on the right-back, who can also play on the left, but he will cost more than initially expected.

Toljan was thought to be available for around £3 million, but The Mirror contends Tottenham will have to cough up £7 million.

That really shouldn’t be much of a problem if Spurs truly want to sign him.

Elsewhere, German outlet Bild suggests Bayern Munich could hijack Tottenham’s bid for the defender.

There’s likely to be further updates once Spurs either make a bid to Hoffenheim or approach Toljan’s agent. Until then, it’s all conjecture.

  1. Yes we need to strengthen our squad considering all the matches we will play next year. Every home game will be a cup final especially to players in the lower half of the league who have never played their and their fans will most surely want to watch them creating an atmosphere.
So, Mr Levy what will you do if Kane, Ali and Eriksen get injured, all the planning just goes out the window without top players to fill the gaps. Even you must be able to see that as you as you watch every game.
Please let us know as to how much say does Mr Pochetino have in buying new players or is he just as frustrated with you like the fans. Just come clean about these issues and inform the fans.
