Danny Rose has issued an apology through his agency, Base Soccer, for the interview he gave to The Sun newspaper earlier this week.

The Tottenham left-back was highly critical of a number of things at the club, including Spurs’ wage structure and lack of ambition in the transfer market.
He also spoke honestly, but less critically, about the situation at Tottenham to the BBC earlier this year.
It’s fair to say Tottenham’s Danny Rose has been having these thoughts for a while.

Rose has been sidelined with a knee injury since January and is not expected to return to fitness until the end of August at the earliest.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the apology.
It doesn’t mean anything, he still meant ever word he said that day. https://t.co/lt80pbTyGq

I think this Rose stuff might benefit us in the long run, now he’s apologised. I hope Levy sees sense and pays our players accordingly. Hope

I mean, these don’t sound like the PR approved words of a man leading a squad-wide wage revolt, but what do we know… https://t.co/P4ftUgiJk1

Bare minimum, but to suggest he’s only now considering his actions is completely disingenuous https://t.co/Cvjvi4aKtv

That’s alright then. No harm done. ? https://t.co/rcmNTNA2ns

No doubt the apology was forced by the club, and the fact it has been released minutes before Poch press conference suggests PR spin. #THFC

Fair enough? Lot of fans agreed with much of the substance, but the timing was atrocious https://t.co/WMTAfhFNrF

Why would Danny Rose issue an apology? Genuinely didn’t believe it would do this damage? If apology isn’t genuine, what’s the point of it?
— Sibs (@SibsTHFC) August 11, 2017
#thfc Just mins before Poch’ press conference, Rose apologises. Now Poch when asked about him, ‘You saw he is sorry. All good. I’m so calm’.

Smacked bottom for Rose then. Issue still will not go away imo

Too late Danny, damage done (first hand) and an apology thru a 3rd party
