Kyle Walker-Peters grabbed most of the headlines yesterday in Tottenham’s 2-0 win at Newcastle United after an impressive debut at right-back.

But the real standout player on the day was Christian Eriksen. We gave him an 8 out of 10 in our player ratings, a better mark than any other Spurs player.

Eriksen created the opener with a wonderful curled pass that was converted by Dele Alli. He was also involved in the slick passing move that led to the second goal.

But he saved his best moment for last. The Dane controlled a pass from Walker-Peters by flicking the ball over the head of a Newcastle player with his first touch and taking the ball down brilliantly with his second. You can see it happen below.

  1. I missed that watching the match! Really cool flick and then to actually control at pace is quite something. He has improved beyond belief compared to two years ago.

  2. I was watching the match, my brain did not understand what happen, had i turn on my PS4 with fifa2017 up and running.

  3. What gets me is the commentators, just a simple.. ‘Eriksen’ .. cause nothing is a suprise with him anymore.. any other player does that and it’s a ‘Ohhhhh Silva what a flick’ (for example) he really is just class !!
