Chelsea are interested in making a move for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, according to The London Evening Standard.
The report claims Alderweireld is still eager to match the salaries of the club’s top earners if he is to sign a new deal.
Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane are thought to earn in excess of £100,000-a-week. Alderweireld, who is on around £50,000-a-week, believes he is worthy of similar wages.
The Standard suggests Spurs are unwilling to entertain any offers for the Belgian.
There is bound to be uncertainty surrounding Alderweireld’s future unless he signs a new contract. But I don’t think there’s even a remote possibility of Tottenham dealing with Chelsea.

Alderweireld has 2 years left on his contract and negotiations are currently underway.
And an optional third year at club’s discretion.
