Tottenham have been drawn in Group H alongside Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and APOEL of Cyprus in this season’s Champions League.
The visit of champions of Europe Real Madrid will see former Spurs players Luka Modric and Gareth Bale return to face their old club.
Dortmund eliminated Tottenham in the knockout stages of the 2015/16 Europa League, so Spurs will be seeking revenge against the Germans.
Tottenham have arguably been handed the toughest draw of all five of the English clubs competing in this season’s Champions League.
Here’s the best of the reaction to the draw from Twitter.

This is what the Champions League is all about. Mouth watering ties to look forward to. Wembley will be rocking. I can’t wait.

#thfc Feels like the games against Dortmund, particularly the one at Wembley, will be the key for Spurs’ hopes of qualification.

Why do 3rd & 4th placed PL teams get an easier draw than the 2nd placed team? Understand coefficient but doesn’t reward higher finishes.

Spurs poor in a very winnable group last season. Huge, exciting draw this time around. Embrace it. #THFC #UCL

Really good draw for Spurs. Two massive teams (unlike last season) and can definitely pip Dortmund to second spot.

If you want to be in the Champions League these are the teams you have to play otherwise go for the Europa. Loving this draw.

Dele Alli missing the first 3 games of the group stages does even things up a bit I guess.

APOEL have ex-Arsenal player Georgios Efrem and ex-Chelsea player Nuno Morais. Just leaving that nugget of info here.
