Mauricio Pochettino has held his pre-match press conference ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Everton.
The Spurs manager revealed Victor Wanyama will be out action for “a few weeks” with a knee injury, while Erik Lamela is expected to return to training at the beginning of October.
Pochettino then spoke about having a long chat with new signing Serge Aurier about learning from past mistakes.
The Argentine went on to suggest Toby Alderweireld “wants to make it clear he is fully committed with the club,” meaning a new contract could be on the cards.
Vincent Janssen was also on the agenda. Pochettino claimed the striker was left out of the Champions League squad simply because there weren’t enough places.
