Borussia Dortmund will be without seven senior players when they travel to Wembley to face Tottenham in the Champions League this week.

The German clubs appears to be in the midst of an injury crisis, which can only be good news for Spurs.

As reported by 101greatgoals.com, five long-term absentees have already been ruled out of Wednesday’s game.

They are: Marco Reus (ankle ligaments), Raphael Guerreiro (ankle), Andre Schürrle (muscular), Erik Durm (hip) and Sebastian Rode (ankle).

On top of that, defender Marc Bartra lasted only 18 minutes in Dortmund’s 0-0 draw with Freiburg on Saturday. He’s a doubt for Wednesday but hasn’t been categorically ruled out.

A player who will definitely miss out at Wembley is captain Marcel Schmelzer. He was also taken off against Freiburg and the club has confirmed he suffered ankle ligament damage.

Of course, Dortmund’s injury crisis doesn’t mean they are totally lacking in quality. Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, among others, is a threat Tottenham must be wary of.
