Tottenham were left frustrated after playing out a 0-0 draw with Swansea City on at Wembley.
It was a particularly frustrating result following the 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday, a win that appeared to banish Spurs’ Wembley hoodoo.
But Swansea came to defend and ended up leaving the national stadium with a hard fought point.
Spurs lacked the necessary intensity to break down Paul Clement’s side, but they did come close to breaking the deadlock in the second half when Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane both came close.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the result and performance.
After the Lord Mayor’s show performance from Spurs, didn’t start game particularly well, have to play with more energy & tempo. #COYS#THFC

A whole season here with the team unable to stand up and make it happen. We are in trouble.

We were awful today and I don’t like blaming the referee, but Mike Dean absolutely bottled that penalty decision. That was a foul on Aurier.

So frustrating. The perfect opportunity to build some momentum after Wednesday and we play like that.

Another day there’s a convincing win. Two pens. An inch here or there. Football. COME ON YOU SPURS!

Comparisons to last season’s home record for Spurs are a bit useless. It was a phenomenal record not to be repeated, Wembley or no Wembley

Should be harder for teams to sit back against us like that on the Wembley pitch. Need to do better!!!

#thfc sign Fernando Llorente as an alternative plan, bring him on, then continue to play the same approach that failed initially.

More than enough quality out there to win the game, have to up the tempo in the second half and pass the ball quicker, simple. #COYS#THFC

Blame has to lie with Poch there. Needless rotation before an easier game on Tuesday. Team out there should’ve won, yes, but set up wrong.

This was a game tailor made for a ball playing forward to invade their box. Being able to play Marcus Edwards from the bench for the last 15 minutes would have been ideal. If he did not score or lay on a chance he certainly would have gained a penalty
all reasons why we did not score on the swans ,biggest one i saw was as great a defender as toby alderwiereld is he actually cant cross a ball ,also its not whinging but mike dean has lost all usefulness ,if you couldnt see from what ever angle the aurier incident and point to the spot with surety you got no business refereeing at that level.
