Tottenham could be set to offer Dele Alli a new contract worth £100,000-a-week, if a report in the London Evening Standard is to be believed.

Journalist Tony Evans has written a piece for the Standard on how Alli has some way to go before he becomes a superstar despite his unquestionable talent.

The author reveals Spurs will offer Alli a huge new deal amid inevitable future interest from other clubs.

“There will be more distracting times ahead,” writes Evans. “Daniel Levy wants to make sure his stars are still at the club when the new White Hart Lane opens – planned for next season – but Alli will be in demand when the season ends.”

He adds: “Tottenham’s wage structure makes their players ripe targets for wealthy suitors. Even the new, £100,000 per-week contract that will be negotiated in the coming weeks will be way below the going rate.”

Alli recently left his long-term representative Rob Segal and is reportedly attracting interest from “two of the most powerful agents in football”.
