Many fans were a bit confused when Mauricio Pochettino ruled Marcus Edwards out of featuring for the first team in Tottenham’s League Cup clash with Barnsley.
Edwards has shown glimpses of brilliance for the U23s, leading to calls for him to play a part for the senior side. Pochettino, however, doesn’t believe he’s ready yet.
Besides, Edwards isn’t the only young player attempting to break into the first team picture.
Keanan Bennetts, an 18-year-old attacker, scored a terrific individual goal in the U23s’ 2-2 draw with Swansea on Monday night.

According to the Twitter account @thfcacadamy, a regular follower of the Spurs youth sides, Bennetts has made an impressive start to the season. Perhaps he’s one to keep an eye on.
Yep. He’s been excellent all season.
