Mauricio Pochettino took 49 of his Tottenham colleagues to a prestige London restaurant for dinner on Wednesday evening – and paid for the entire thing himself!
The Spurs manager picked up the £7,000 bill at Beast, an infamously expensive restaurant. The entire Tottenham squad, as well as chairman Daniel Levy, were in attendance.
According to the Guardian, Pochettino is eager to instil a strong sense of team spirit at the club. Apparently he organised the meal for the players, especially the new signings, to bond.
Tottenham beat Barnsley 1-0 in the EFL Cup third round the evening before the event. I wonder if he would have been so keen to pay the bill had Spurs failed to win.
