Kieran Trippier, Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Harry Kane have all been called up to the England squad for the final two World Cup qualifiers.
Harry Winks, Joshua Onomah and Kyle Walker-Peters are the Tottenham representatives in the under-21s squad.
Arguably, Winks is unlucky to miss out on a place in the senior squad.
The 21-year-old was excellent in midfield as Spurs beat APOEL Nicosia 3-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
When players like Jake Livermore, a player who didn’t make the grade at Tottenham, and Fabian Delph are selected in the squad, you have to wonder why Winks hasn’t been chosen.
If not for an injury that has prevented the young midfielder from playing often so far this season, Winks probably would have been included.
Perhaps he’ll get his chance next time, but it might be too late for him to make an impression before the World Cup in the summer.
