Harry Winks has been called up to the senior England squad because of injuries to Phil Jones and Fabian Delph.
The Tottenham midfielder had initially been picked for the under-21s, but Gareth Southgate has promoted him with Jones and Delph dropping out.
Winks has started twice in the last week for Spurs, starring in the wins against APOEL Nicosia and Huddersfield Town.
He joins Kieran Trippier, Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Harry Kane in the senior squad. Kyle Walker-Peters and Joshua Onomah remain with the under-21s.
Here’s how Tottenham fans reacted to the news on Twitter.
Harry Winks is about to dropkick that fraud Henderson out of England’s midfield, what a day

We all joked about Harry Winks getting an England call up before Mark Noble and it’s actually happened sooner than we thought it would 😂

Harry Winks is the player Arsenal fans think Jack Wilshere is

Winks in the England squad. Feel like a proud dad. Can’t wait for him to snatch Henderson’s spot and captaincy.

I try not to get overexcited by young players who still have everything to prove but Winks is an exception. An absolute gem of a footballer.
