Mauricio Pochettino has suggested there is a big difference between Tottenham and the Manchester clubs when it comes to buying players.
Spurs currently sit third in the Premier League table with only Manchester United and Manchester City above them.
Speaking to beIN Sports (via FourFourTwo), Pochettino claimed United and City work on a whole different level to Tottenham in the transfer market.
“The difference these days between clubs in the Premier League is that there are clubs, like City and United, who sign who they want and when they want,” said Pochettino.
“Then there are big teams, like us, who sign when we can and who we can. It’s the big difference today.”
The Argentine has a point. Daniel Levy’s strict transfer policy means Spurs have to be careful about who they bring in and how much they spend to do so.
Meanwhile, the Manchester clubs are able to pay huge fees and wages to acquire just about anybody.
