Graeme Le Saux has suggested Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda should join Tottenham if he is frustrated with his lack of chances at Stamford Bridge.
Musonda, a 21-year-old attacking midfielder, recently criticised his current employers for failing to reward his hard work with a chance in the first team.
The Belgian wrote on Instagram: “You sacrifice, you work hard, harder, you give more than what’s expected, and often more than you can, because you love what you do and clearly more than you should. And what do you get back? Literally nothing… done.”
After seeing Musonda’s comments, former Chelsea and England defender Le Saux told The Star: “That looks a risky strategy for getting first-team opportunities if you ask me!
“Unfortunately bringing youth through is not the Chelsea model at the moment.
“And a string of very good players have moved on from the club and now play at the very highest level in the Premier League.
“Look at [Manchester City midfielder] Kevin De Bruyne and [Manchester United striker] Romelu Lukaku for two examples.
“The one club that does youth a chance is Tottenham. Maybe Musonda needs to move across London for his chance to shine?!”
Talented young players are always welcome at Spurs, although I don’t think there’s much chance of a deal happening here.
Yep I agree it’s the best club for youngsters to get there chance, I hope they see how Harry Winks has taken his chance, as a Spurs fan I’m excited about the future.
If we can attract the best youngsters around it can only be good for the future of the club.
yep Tony at spurs under Poch its if your good enough your old enough
Is he free to join, though? Because I really don’t think Chelsea would sell him or anyone else to Tottenham. And that is a very mutual thing – Daniel Levy won’t sell to Chelsea, either.
