When Josh Onomah left Tottenham to join Aston Villa on loan in the summer, there were suggestions he had played his last game for Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino likes to keep young players at the club to train with the first team, rarely letting them leave on loan.

But Onomah might be a different case. Perhaps he is better off playing first team football in his preferred position than coming off the bench for a few minutes here and there for Spurs.

The assist he provided in Villa’s 2-0 win at Preston suggests he still has a future at his parent club.

Onomah nicked the ball high up the pitch and produced a fine pass for goalscorer Robert Snodgrass. You can watch it below.
