The majority of the plaudits went to Tottenham’s attacking players after the historic 3-1 victory over Real Madrid on Wednesday.
And rightly so – Dele Alli scored twice, Christian Eriksen bagged the crucial third goal and Harry Kane tied everything together.
But another Spurs player deserves a special mention…
Kieran Trippier was excellent on the right wing, setting up the opener with a wonderful volleyed cross and very nearly creating another in the second half when Alli headed wide.
His best moment came five minutes before half time. Trippier ran at Marcelo and produced some magical skill to get past him. You can watch it happen below.
🗣 “I thought every single player played really well.”
