Barcelona were impressed by Harry Winks’ performances against Real Madrid in the Champions League group stages, according to The London Evening Standard.

The report claims Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez was present for the 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu. He was apparently scouting Christian Eriksen, but Winks caught his eye.

For me, this story is mere speculation. Just about every Spurs player has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months, largely because they’ve been playing very, very well.

I think The Standard is simply combining Winks’ fine displays with the fact Fernandez was at the Bernabeu and making a transfer rumour of it, which is nothing new.

Nowhere does it actually say Barcelona are considering a move for the 21-year-old, so Tottenham fans needn’t worry.

  1. A report from that well known Arse fan Tom Collymosse of the Sub-Standard making up stories yet again of another Spurs player linked with a move away. This time it’s non other than Harry Winks. Any and every Spurs player who impresses, will immediately be subjected to speculation of a potential move away from the club. If young Sanchez continues in the same rich vein, he’ll also suddenly find himself being linked with a move away from the club by the media. To date it’s Poch, Kane and Alli to Real, Eriksen and Winks to Barcelona, Rose and Dier to Manchester United, Lloris to PSG, Vertonghen with a possible move back to Ajax according to his mother and Toby to either Chelsea or Manchester City because he hasn’t signed a contract extension as yet. the only reason Victor Wanyama hasn’t been linked With a move away from the club is simply because he’s been out the side through injury and not played much this season. Laughable.

  2. Its all the same ole rubbish from media beat ups. Leave spurs players alone for one season. That includes the manager. Enough damage was done to Spurs over the Harry Redknapp rumour being touted as the next England manager. Ruined our season.

  3. Just seen winks’ interview on BBC,Dream on Barca absolutely no chance he will leave Spurs for a long time, and even though I am a fan of both teams he is at a club which is going places,
