Tottenham are keeping a close eye on West Ham playmaker Manuel Lanzini, according to The Mirror.

The report claims Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of the Argentine, who scored the winning goal when the Hammers beat Spurs 1-0 at the London Stadium last season.

Lanzini currently earns £35,000-a-week and his contract expires in the summer of 2020. It’s likely West Ham are preparing a new deal for the 24-year-old.

Everton apparently had an approach for the player rejected in the summer.

Like Pochettino, I’m an admirer of Lanzini. He’d provide very capable competition in attacking midfield for Tottenham.

But it’s unlikely West Ham will do a deal with Spurs. Their hand might be forced if they are relegated, but I think they’ll stay up.
